About SpeedKara

SpeedKara is the community-driven speedrun leaderboard for World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic raids. We track and rank raid completion times across all seven TBC dungeons—from the iconic 10-player Karazhan to the gruelling 25-player Sunwell Plateau. Logs are automatically fetched from WarcraftLogs, validated against a comprehensive rule set covering boss kills, trash mob requirements, starting points, and fresh-instance verification, then ranked by completion time on the public leaderboard.

Created by Teell from Spineshatter-EU.

How Timing Works

Every speedrun is timed from the first combat event inside the raid instance to the final boss kill. The run must be logged in a single continuous WarcraftLogs report—split logs or logs that start after the first pull are not accepted.

For Karazhan, SpeedKara additionally provides an Adjusted Time ranking. Because the Opera event randomly selects one of three boss variants (Wizard of Oz, Big Bad Wolf, or Romulo & Julianne), each with different roleplay durations, the adjusted time formula removes Opera fight time and applies a variant-specific bonus. This ensures guilds are compared purely on execution speed rather than luck with the random Opera roll.

Data Sources

All leaderboard data originates from WarcraftLogs, the standard combat logging platform for World of Warcraft. SpeedKara’s background worker continuously queries the WarcraftLogs v2 GraphQL API to discover and process new TBC Classic raid reports. Guild names, player names, boss kill timestamps, trash mob kills, and death events are all sourced directly from the public WarcraftLogs data.

The database is hosted on Supabase (PostgreSQL), and the site is served through Netlify with an edge function that pre-renders the leaderboard for search engine crawlers. No personal data is collected beyond what is already publicly available on WarcraftLogs.

Supported Raids

SpeedKara supports leaderboards, rules, and death analytics for every TBC Classic raid:

Community & Discord

SpeedKara has an active Discord server where players discuss strategies, share runs, and coordinate speedrun attempts. You can also subscribe to Discord webhook notifications to get pinged whenever a new top-10 run appears on any leaderboard. The webhook feature is free and available directly from the dashboard.
